The account y'all sign in with has no connectedness with any email account, although WLMail will effort to make one. Which business relationship is the default account is of no significance in this respect. The address box in your screenshot has a dropdown arrow at the right-manus finish. This would suggest that you have at some stage signed in with a different account, listed in that dropdown. Can y'all Sign in with a different e-mail address now using the button on the ribbon?

Ane last question at this phase - MS introduced two-step verification for sign-in a few weeks ago. I honestly don't know whether this could affect sign-in to WL services but not log-on to the mail account using the same accost. Nevertheless, if this is enabled for the account you're using, then WLMail won't exist able to sign in because the second factor volition be missing. Check whether yous elected for this option at https://account.alive.com/proofs/Manage. If you did, you'll apparently take to obtain and use an app password to enter in the dialogue.

one. Aye the right-most push button does say sign in

ii. If I apply the 'stop signing in' option I do not have admission to contacts when I want to forward an electronic mail to another recipient. By this I mean I practice non get suggested contact names when I start to enter the contacts accost in the 'to' section.   I do have access to my contacts list fifty-fifty though the right nearly button is  showing sign in.

iii. I only get access to my full list of contacts  if I am signed in with my default email address.

4. If I sign in with a other Hotmail email accounts I just become access to the contacts relating to 'messenger' contacts.

v. No I accept not elected to use the 2 pace verification.

This problem started a couple of months ago, immediately following the suspension and reinstatement of my default account and the change of password, and so in my opinion is conspicuously related to that alter.

I have gone through the obvious stage of  opening the properties for the default account and ensuring that the correct password is entered .

Looks like I will just have to live with this pocket-sized problem.

Thanks for a detailed reply. I'm however having problem understanding what's happening. In your offset reply in this thread, y'all wrote the warning box comes up and if I merely click on the 'X' to close it , then I am signed in...  Now you lot say that if you practise this, you're not signed in, which is what I would await. The right-most push button reads Sign in. This is what made me think that the 'alert box' in fact referred to a failed log-on to a mail account, not a failed sign-in to Windows Live. Your screenshot cleared that up, so at present I'm stuck at trying to understand these statements:

When you click on  the 'terminate signing in' information technology does non allow you to sync with your contacts etc.
I do accept access to my contacts list even though the right nearly button is  showing sign in.

I can only conclude that somehow you are being signed in automatically, but a fault somewhere is causing (a) the 'alarm box' to appear proverb that your sign-in failed and (b) the sign-in push on the ribbon to show the incorrect land. I've non come across a similar situation in seven years of working with this program daily, so I reckon it's unique.

This fault could lie in the Windows Credentials Director, or it could exist in i of the files responsible for authentication. The simply matter I would have suggested that might clear up the second of these possibilities is repairing the installation. This should ensure that all the files the program needs are present and correct and properly registered. Since yous have re-installed the plan, information technology would be worthwhile repairing information technology again. With all programs closed, blazon wlarp into the starting time search box and press Enter. In the window that opens, select Repair..., and when it'southward finished reboot the calculator. Then try launching Windows Live Mail again.

I'g not certain about how to handle stored credentials. My own inclination would exist simply to delete all stored Windows Live credentials and allow them to be re-created next time y'all enter them. Perchance a forum mod could enquire a product specialist how best to go about this.

Hi Firstly let me apologise for causing you confusion. I am a septuagenarian silvery surfer then at times confuse myself.

1.  In my initial thread I did say that when I dismissed the warning box, I was signed in. I never await at the right well-nigh button  , I just assume that if I tin admission my postal service etc. I am signed in.

2. Yes if I use the 'stop signing in part' then I do not get the auto suggested contact when I start to input the address into new postal service or fwd. mail.

three. When the right almost button shows 'sign in'  and I am not using the  'stop signing in 'function so the auto suggest system works.

4. Yes  I tend to concur that I am automatically signed in simply something somewhere is deciding I am not !!!!

5 Equally for the windows credentials manager I would have no idea as to where to find that. I do encounter in my 'local app data' binder that I have at least 3 split up folders named  Window Live but they all incorporate different sub folders. or does this add together to the confusion.??

half-dozen.Today again, I have done a clean uninstall as per Helene'southward instructions and so a complete reinstall, a reboot and as the problem was still there, I did the  'wlarp' repair equally per your instruction, reboot and yes the mystery box notwithstanding appears.

The interesting thing is when I had occasion to uninstall WML about 12/18 months agone and reinstalled it , I had to add all of my email accounts to the new installation. Now when I reinstall it opens with all of my accounts, messages, contacts already on there.

Give thanks y'all for all of your help but I am prepared to admit defeat and just accept that I must  sign in on each occasion or  just click my mouse and dismiss the alert box.

Thanks for the additional information you have provided us.

I sympathise that you are unable to sign in to your Windows Live Mail on a particular computer. I suggest that you lot optimize your Internet Explorer's cache. Internet Explorer and Windows Live Postal service is somehow continued and just to make sure that information technology is non causing the issue, I am suggesting the option I accept mentioned higher up. Hello Camille Your understanding of my problem is incorrect. I know this is a very long thread and takes time to read.

My problem is not that I cannot sign in, it is that I am signed in but a warning box tells me that I am using the wrong electronic mail address or password and to endeavor once again.

I but dismiss this alarm box  and tin can access my windows live postal service fifty-fifty though the  right-near push on the home tape tells me to sign in.

Then every bit ifiredog said, I am signed in only somehow information technology is telling me I am not signed in.

as I said in my previous post , mayhap we should admit defeat on this mystery technical trouble.
